In
Britain, the most attractive events and festivities
for the tourists are those related with the Empire nostalgia:
from the classic rowing competition between Oxford and
Cambridge Universities to the Colour Parade ritual made
towards mid June to celebrate the Queen’s birthday.
But these anachronisms reflect just one part of the
English culture, that complements with the wide variety
of regional festivals that perpetuate old traditions,
or the festival of Edinburg, the rebellious Carnival
party celebrated in Notting Hill, London, or some of
the many art and music festivals that are celebrated
in all the English cities.
Other events that attract tourists of all parts of the
world are sports; soccer, tennis, rugby, derbys, regattas...
the list could be endless.
