Oxford
University Museum of Natural History
The Museum of Natural History lodges the zoological,
entomological, paleontological and mineral objects collections
of the University of Oxford, accumulated throughout
the last three centuries. Until mid 19th century, these
collections were scattered through the different dependencies
of the University, until towards 1860, when professor
Sir Henry Acland proposed to construct an outside building
that reunited those collections and served as the training
centre on natural sciences of the University.
